Rockers and Floors
Here are some shots of the outer rocker removed. There is a considerable
amount of stucture behind the outer rocker which is not called out in any
assembly manuals. Along with the "mystery piece" there is an additional (what
I'm calling) rocker reinforcment piece which runs about halfway up the length
of the outer rocker all the way back to the wheelhouse. It doens't directly
connect to the wheelhouse however. See below
At this point, I'm pretty happy with the fit of the new
piece, there is a couple of spots that I need to work on,
but nothing to major.

The next steps are to get the outer rocker fitted into place
along with the new dogleg of the quarter panel. Although I
won't be welding the dogleg in quite yet, I need to make
sure everything is where I want it before I start making
the welds "permanent". Somewhere in there I'm going to be
checking door gaps as well.
There has been a lot of work going on behind the scenes since my last
posting. Mostly prep work to get ready to start welding in the rockers.
Getting ready to cut a perfectly good
replacement panel.... Measure twice, cut once.
Patch panel temporarily in place. I'm using
Clecos to hold the panel in place
Wider shot of the work being done.
Outer rocker panel temporarily in place.
Looks pretty good huh?
